Princess Di and Prince CharlesHow time passes on – hearing news of Prince George’s christening on this morning’s news immediately brings back memories of when Prince Charles and Lady Diana visited the Sunshine Coast in 1984.

Working with the Sunshine Coast Daily Newspaper at the time, it was a very busy day for all those in the media. The photo I want to share was taken when the royals walked out onto the back veranda of the Macadamia Nut Plantation which was situated next to the Big Pineapple. I was very fortunate to be the only press photographer waiting on the lawn below the veranda at the time. This photo was only possible because Prince Charles stopped to talk with two Canadian men who wore T-shirts with Canada written on them.

I couldn’t believe my luck, I simply had to take the photos. There’s a lot to be said to being in the right place at the right time.

Always look for the “wow” in everything, remembering this “wow” is because it’s of something not normally seen.

Happy shooting!
